Firhill Stables

About our sessions at Firhill Stables

We do teach from complete beginners to advanced work .

We have a limited number of teaching horses but have many clients that bring their own equine partners.
We accept non horse owning clients that show a desire to not just us horses as an activity when it is nice weather.

We can tailor make lessons to suit every individual.
We also offer an outreach service for our riders to support them from their own yard building confidence in hacking out and other hurdles that come their way.
All of us have needed support with our fears and felt reluctant to ask
Have you ever met somebody and misread the way they behave or talk.

Ok take away the talk!

Now understand the only communication line a horse shares with you is behaviour and signs
How many times do we sit and think to ourselves he /she should have known, when we have had arguments with partners /children.

A horse does not have the gift of verbal communication .We see daily horses that have been in pain , had owners that try but fail to understand ,been sold purely because they are trying to say I am in pain please make it stop hurting.

For this reason we do not consider our horses as training aids ,we do not wish to be a cheap excuse for a recreational activity .

We are not a weekend sport and do not encourage this thought process, we aim to teach the next generation of professional riders and have time after time proved how unique our methods are.

Please look at other stables and group lessons where you can ride for an hour for cheaper alternatives we train you or you child for the horses and time after time are commended on our tuition.

We do This !!!!

NOT THIS !!!!!!

Our aim is to teach our students .
Not with a rubber ring to keep them afloat.
Non institutionalised horses do not have a rubber ring.
We will never use unqualified less than BHSAI instructors . All our sessions allow our riders to maximise their learning experience by way of constant feedback and support .
Lessons take into consideration learning styles, confidence, age and ability. As sessions are guided by the clients learning aims and goals this gives us a plan on how to best support and guide
We also cater for Physiotherapy referrals with our own Physiotherapist on hand to liaise with both client and instructor ensuring we are aware of limitations.

Our school is hired out to local riders for training and clinics. We have numerous instructors that are experienced in Natural horsemanship to Horse agility, dressage and show jumping.

School Hire is 7.50 per person/per horse with an additional charge of £5.00 for use jumps.

We can be contacted via the website or telephone for bookings.
